ForPatio ("ForPatio," "we,"
"us," or "our") — a brand of
My New Stores, Inc., an Illinois corporation — takes your privacy
seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when
you visit
ForPatio.com
(the "Site"), why we collect it, how we use it, who we
share it with, and what choices you have. We've written it in plain
English wherever possible.
This Policy applies to the Site only. It does not cover sites we don't
own or operate — including manufacturer brand pages, payment
processors, social media platforms, and finance partners (such as
Affirm) we may link to or integrate with.
Your use of the Site signals your acceptance of this Policy. We may
update it from time to time; we'll signal material updates by changing
the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, posting a banner
on the Site or notifying registered customers by email. Questions?
Email us anytime at
privacy@forpatio.com.
1. What "Personal Data" Means
In this Policy, "Personal Data" means information that
identifies you or could reasonably be linked to you — for example,
your name, email address, shipping address, phone number, payment
information, or device identifier. We treat any data that's tied to one
of those identifiers as Personal Data while it remains linked.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Give Us
-
Contact identifiers: name, shipping & billing
address, country, phone number, email address, and (if you create an
account) a username and password.
-
Payment information: credit-card number, expiration,
and security code; or details for an alternative payment method
(PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Affirm, etc.). Card numbers are
transmitted securely to our payment processor and are not stored on
our servers in plain text.
-
Order & transaction history: items you've
purchased, dates, amounts, returns, customizations, and ship-to
addresses.
-
Account preferences: wish-list items, saved addresses,
product reviews, design questions, marketing preferences, swatch
requests, and survey responses.
-
Communications: emails, chat transcripts, recorded or
transcribed phone calls (where lawful), and SMS messages you exchange
with our team.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
-
Device & usage data: IP address, approximate
geolocation (derived from IP), browser type and version, operating
system, screen size, language preference, the pages you view, the
links you click, the products you browse, time stamps, and how you
arrived at the Site (referring URL or campaign).
-
Cookies and similar technologies: small files stored
in your browser, plus pixels, web beacons, and SDK identifiers. These
help us keep you signed in, remember your cart, measure performance,
and personalize what you see (see Section 5).
2.3 Information from Third Parties
-
Analytics & marketing partners (e.g., Google
Analytics, Meta) provide aggregate insights about how visitors find
and use the Site.
-
Advertising networks may share whether their
campaigns drove visits or conversions.
-
Payment processors verify your payment details and
help us prevent fraud.
-
Identity-verification & address-validation services
help us ship to the right place and reduce fraud loss.
-
Manufacturers and brand partners share order-status
updates (lead times, ship dates, tracking) when you purchase their
products.
SMS consent is never shared with third parties for marketing.
Phone numbers and text-message opt-ins stay with us and our SMS
service provider for the purpose of delivering the messages you've
asked for.
3. How We Use Your Information
3.1 To run the Site and fulfill your orders
- Create and manage your account; verify your identity at sign-in.
- Process orders, payments, and refunds; calculate sales tax; book freight delivery.
- Send order confirmations, shipping updates, delivery scheduling, and similar transactional messages.
- Coordinate manufacturer special orders, custom upholstery, swatch fulfillment, and warranty claims.
- Provide customer support, answer questions, and resolve issues.
3.2 To improve our products and your experience
- Analyze how visitors use the Site so we can fix bugs, simplify navigation, and prioritize new features.
- Personalize what you see — for example, surfacing brands or collections similar to ones you've browsed.
- Test design changes (A/B testing) on small groups of visitors.
- Develop new products, services, and tools (such as room visualizers).
3.3 To communicate with you (with your permission)
- Send marketing emails, SMS, or postal mail about new collections, sales, design tips, and exclusive offers — only if you've opted in.
- Run promotions, contests, and surveys you choose to enter.
- Tailor our advertising on third-party platforms so it's more relevant to you (and less wasteful for us).
3.4 To meet our legal and security obligations
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Use.
- Enforce our agreements and protect our rights, property, and the safety of our customers and team.
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, and lawful government requests.
- Carry out business transactions such as audits, mergers, financings, or sales of assets (see Section 6).
4. Legal Bases (for visitors in the EU/UK, where applicable)
Where required by law, we rely on one or more of these legal bases to
process your Personal Data: (a) contract — to
fulfill your orders and provide the services you request; (b)
legitimate interests — running and improving our
business, securing the Site, and (where permitted) marketing similar
products to existing customers; (c) consent — for
marketing emails, SMS, and most cookies (you can withdraw consent at any
time); and (d) legal obligation — to keep tax,
accounting, and regulatory records.
5. Cookies, Pixels & Similar Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to
keep the Site running and to help us understand how it's being used.
The cookies we use fall into a few groups:
-
Strictly necessary — required for the Site to
work (e.g., remembering what's in your cart, keeping you signed in,
load balancing). These cannot be turned off.
-
Performance & analytics — help us count
visits, find broken pages, and measure marketing effectiveness.
-
Functional — remember your preferences (such
as your saved zip code for shipping estimates).
-
Advertising — let us and our partners show you
relevant ads on other sites and measure their performance.
Your controls. Most browsers let you block or delete
cookies through their settings. You can also opt out of personalized
advertising through industry tools such as the
DAA Consumer Choice page
and the
NAI opt-out tool,
or by using the global "Do Not Track" or
Global Privacy Control signal in supported browsers.
Blocking some cookies may break parts of the Site (cart, checkout, and
saved preferences in particular).
6. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your Personal Data for money. We share it only as needed
to run our business, in the following ways:
-
Service providers. Vendors that help us operate the
Site, fulfill orders, process payments, ship freight, send email and
SMS, run analytics, host live chat, and provide customer support.
They receive only what they need to do their job and are
contractually required to protect your information.
-
Manufacturers & brand partners. We pass along
the information needed to manufacture, customize, and deliver your
order (your name, ship-to address, item details, and contact phone
number).
-
Finance partners. If you choose financing at
checkout (e.g., Affirm), the finance provider receives the details
it needs to evaluate and service your loan.
-
Legal & safety. We may disclose information to
law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties when we believe
it is required by law, necessary to enforce our Terms, or appropriate
to protect our rights, property, or safety (or yours).
-
Corporate transactions. If we're involved in a
merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or
bankruptcy, your information may be transferred to the successor
organization. We'll tell you about any change in ownership or use
of your Personal Data, and we'll honor any commitments we made in
this Policy.
What we don't share for marketing: SMS opt-ins, phone
numbers, and the contents of customer-service conversations are not
shared with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party marketers.
7. Marketing Choices & Opting Out
-
Email. We only send marketing email if you've opted
in. Every marketing email contains an "Unsubscribe" link at the
bottom — one click and you're out. We will still send service
messages (order confirmations, shipping updates, account notices) to
keep your purchase on track.
-
SMS. Reply STOP to any text from us
to opt out, or HELP for assistance. You may receive
one final confirmation message after opting out.
-
Postal mail. Email
privacy@forpatio.com with
"Remove from Postal List" in the subject and we'll take you off our
mailing list.
-
Personalized ads. Use the industry opt-out tools
linked in Section 5.
8. Choosing Not to Share Personal Data
You're never required to provide Personal Data to browse the Site, but
some features won't work without it — for example, you can't place
an order without a shipping address, can't get personalized order
updates without an email address, and can't open a financing application
without the information the lender requires. If you choose not to
provide information that's necessary to fulfill an order, we may need
to cancel that order; we'll let you know if so.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for adults who can enter into a contract. We do
not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone under 16. If you
believe a child has provided us with Personal Data, please email
privacy@forpatio.com and we
will delete it from our records as required by applicable law.
10. Data Retention
We keep Personal Data only as long as we need it for the purposes
described in this Policy — typically the life of your account
plus the period required by tax, accounting, warranty, and product-
safety laws (generally up to seven years for transactional records).
Customer-service correspondence is kept long enough to respond to
follow-up questions and to defend against potential disputes. We
securely delete or anonymize information when it's no longer needed.
11. Security
We use industry-standard physical, technical, and administrative
safeguards to protect Personal Data — including encrypted
transmission (TLS) for checkout, restricted internal access, and
routine security reviews. No system on the public internet is
100% secure, however; we cannot guarantee absolute security, and
you transmit information at your own risk. If you believe your
account has been compromised, contact us immediately at
privacy@forpatio.com.
12. International Visitors
The Site is operated from the United States and is intended for U.S.
customers. If you visit from outside the U.S., your information will
be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data-protection
laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Site, you
consent to that transfer.
13. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following
rights with respect to the Personal Data we hold about you:
- Access — request a copy of your Personal Data.
- Correction — ask us to fix data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your Personal Data, subject to legal exceptions.
- Portability — receive a copy in a portable format.
- Restriction or objection — ask us to limit certain uses, including direct marketing.
- Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent for any processing that relies on it.
- Non-discrimination — we won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email
privacy@forpatio.com from the
address associated with your account, or call
1-800-555-1234. We will verify your
identity (typically by confirming details only the account holder would
know) before responding, and we'll respond within the timeframe required
by applicable law (generally 30–45 days). You may use an
authorized agent — we may require written proof of authorization.
There is no fee unless your request is excessive or repetitive.

above (access, correction, deletion, portability, opt-out of targeted
advertising or "sale," and non-discrimination). To exercise them,
contact us at
privacy@forpatio.com. State
laws may also provide for an appeal process if we deny your request —
we'll explain how to appeal in our response.
16. Changes to This Policy
We will post any updates to this Policy on this page and revise the
"Last Updated" date at the top. If a change is material, we'll do more
than that — for example, we may post a banner on the Site or send
a notice to registered customers. We encourage you to review this Policy
periodically.
